It’s official—the industry colour authority, Pantone, has announced its fashion colour report for spring 2014, which includes a range of gorgeous shades to inspire all things colourful and beautiful, including nail design. Taking cues from the spring 2014 Pantone fashion colour report, CND interprets one of the spring 2014 colours, Dazzling Blue, to bring you three custom-designed nail art tutorials.
Blue Bloom
You’ll Need:
CND Vinylux weekly top coat
CND Vinylux in Svelte Suede and Blue Rapture
CND Additives in Deep Blue
Eye shadow sponge
Adhesive stencil
- Prepare the natural nail, using the P.E.P. method.
- Apply two coats of Svelte Suede and allow to dry.
- Place stencil on the nail.
- In a mixing dish, blend five drops of Blue Rapture with one scoop of Deep Blue.
- Quickly dabbing on the mixture with a makeup sponge.
- Remove the stencil and finish with one layer of Vinylux weekly top coat.
Astonishing Blue Stripes
You’ll Need
CND Shellac top coat
CND Shellac base coat
CND Shellac in Azure Wish
CND Additives in Deep Blue and Blue Heaven
Gel flat oval brush
Silver nail transfer foil
- Prepare the natural nail, using the P.E.P. method.
- Apply base coat and cure for 10 seconds.
- Apply two coats of Azure Wish and cure each coat for two minutes.
- Apply striping tape and brush entire surface with Deep Blue.
- Remove striping tape and randomly apply silver foil.
- Brush entire nail with Blue Heaven
- Apply top coat and cure for two minutes.
- Wipe the nail with 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol to remove top film.
Blue Ice
You’ll Need
CND Shellac top coat
CND Shellac base coat
CND Shellac in Azure Wish
CND Additives in Deep Blue
Gel flat oval brush
Silver nail transfer foil
- Prepare the natural nail, using the P.E.P. method.
- Apply base coat and cure for 10 seconds.
- Apply two coats of Azure Wish and cure each coat for two minutes.
- Press silver foil around edges of nail.
- Brush entire surface with Deep Blue.
- Apply top coat and cure for two minutes.
- Wipe the nail with 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol to remove top film.
