While spring may still be a few months away, we’re already reaching for lighter nail shades that remind us of the warmer weather. To get you inspired for some spring nail art, the CND team has created these nail art tutorials with their new Flora & Fauna collection, available now.
Goldenrod
1. Clean and prep the nail.
2. Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Base Coat and cure for 10 seconds.
3. Apply two thin layers of CND Shellac Salmon Run and cure each layer for two minutes.
4. Use a dry Gel Flat Oval Brush to randomly apply Additives Nectar Glaze to half the nail. Repeat with Additives Hydrangea Bloom.
5. Dip a stylus into 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol and dot onto Additives, allowing them to disperse and allow to dry.
6. Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Top Coat and cure for two minutes.
7. Wipe with 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol to remove top film.
8. Lightly buff the entire nail with the green side of the CND Glossing Block to matte the surface.
Peaceful Pond
To create transfer:
1. Fill a glass bowl with room temperature water.
2. Drop Vinylux colours one on top of the other starting with Studio White, Creekside, Faux Fur and Field Fox.
3. Use a stylus to swirl the colours and create the pattern.
4. Place a small piece of palette paper onto the pattern in the bowl of water; gently lift the palette paper out of the bowl and allow to dry.
5. Apply Super Shiney Top Coat over the transfer. Allow to completely dry prior to use.
To complete the look:
1. Clean and prep the nail.
2. Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Base Coat and cure for 10 seconds.
3. Apply two thin layers of CND Shellac Studio White and cure each layer for two minutes.
4 Apply Vinylux transfer to top film.
5 Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Top Coat and cure for two minutes.
6. Wipe with 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol to remove top film.
Dewdrops
1. Clean and prep the nail.
2. Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Base Coat and cure for 10 seconds.
3. Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Creekside and cure for two minutes.
4. Use a Gel Flat Oval Brush to burnish Additives Hummingbird into the top film.
5 Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Field Fox and cure for two minutes.
6 Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Creekside and cure for two minutes.
7 Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Top Coat and cure for two minutes.
8. Wipe with 99 per cent isopropyl alcohol to remove top film.
9 Use a CND Koala Buffer to gently buff the surface, revealing the layers of colours. Lightly buff the entire nail with the green side of the CND Glossing Block to matte the surface.
