Whether your clients are frequenting the summer music festival circuit or just need some punchy nail art for their weekend patio-hopping, the Essie team has created five fun nail art looks with the new Neons 2015 collection to help inspire you and brighten up your salon’s latest #NOTD Instagram post.
Tribal Beat
1. After a thin layer of Essie base coat, apply two coats of Make Some Noise.
2. Using a detail brush dipped in Groove Is In The Heart, create a diamond in the centre of the nail.
3. Add another diamond near the cuticle and one at the tip of the nail.
4. Add two short, horizontal lines between the diamonds, then seal with Essie top coat.
Sound Wave
1. After a thin layer of Essie base coat, apply two coats of Melody Maker.
2. Tear off a piece of a cosmetic sponge, dip in Vibrant Vibes, then stamp gently on the tip of the nail.
3. Repeat step 2, continuing to stamp the color down the nail.
4. Seal with Essie top coat while the polish is still slightly wet so that the colours can blend more easily.
Neon Lights
1. After a thin layer of Essie base coat, apply two coats of Groove Is In The Heart.
2. Using Coacha’bella, create a half-circle shape at either the cuticle or tip of each nail.
3. Create a smaller half circle inside the first using All Access Pass.
4. Using a dotting tool, add a dot of Vibrant Vibes, then seal with Essie top coat.
Edgy Electric
1. After a thin layer of Essie base coat, apply two coats of All Access Pass.
2. Using a striping brush dipped in Groove Is In The Heart, draw two evenly spaced, vertical lines down the outside of the nail. Start each line at the cuticle and pull to the tip of the nail.
3. Repeat step 2, creating two more lines down the center of the nail. Start the lines slightly away from the cuticle.
4. Create “zig-zags” between the lines on the left and right, and seal with Essie top coat.
Free-Wheeling
1. After a thin layer of Essie base coat, apply two coats of Coacha’bella.
2. Using a striping brush dipped in Groove Is In The Heart, create three concentric semi-circles on the nail—making the middle ring the thickest.
3. Add thin lines to create the “spokes” of the wheel. Start from the thickest ring of the wheel and pull the lines to the center of the wheel.
4. Create shorter lines on either side of the spokes, ending at the center ring. Seal with Essie top coat while the polish is still slightly wet.
