We caught up with Kim Vo, celebrity hairstylist, salon owner and TV star, at Schwarzkopf Professional’s Spring/Summer 2013 semi-annual Essential Looks Collection launch in Berlin.

Here’s what he told us about hair trends for the season and his tips and tricks for creating the perfect blonde.

Top trend predictions for 2013?

Fringe, the power pony (“Not all ponies are created equal.”), loose braids, sombre (soft ombre) and bright jewel tone colours.

Best colour advice?

He does a triple process for some blondes, especially those who are naturally dark. “Bronde” is also going to be a big hit this year (blonde for brunettes who don’t want to look blonde– think Jennifer Lopez).

Secret weapon?

Schwarzkopf Professionals Crystal Lightener for a full range of blondes.

Strangest tip?

Using ketchup can really neutralize a green tinge.
