Sustainability meets style at Authentic Beauty Concept’s first-ever Virtual Gathering!
Hosted by education manager Megan Nevins, the event was live-streamed on Monday, February 7, 2022, and featured a range of segments that focused on styling, sustainability and wellness.
It kicked off with a yoga and breathing session, with poses to help promote flexibility and balance that stylists can practice in between their appointments or after a long day of working on clients’ hair.
Toronto-based Authentic Beauty Concept ambassador Miranda Furtado (@miranda.lovesinthehair) led an interactive session with three look-and-learns: Effortless waves, romantic up-do and a messy bun, each demonstrated on a model with a different hair texture. Furtado shared her top tips, must-have products and techniques to achieve each style.
Authentic Beauty Concept’s international team also discussed the brand’s sustainability commitment, including their goal to be fully switched to 80 per cent post-consumer plastic by the end of 2022.
There was also a sensorial segment led by Marta Senselier, who explained the importance of scents for stylists to create a brand image and build their business. She says when salons have a pleasant scent, clients are much more likely to stay longer, come back and share their experience with others.
The event ends on a “sweet” note with a fun and easy baking recipe for vegan dark chocolate tahini cookies.
