Inspired by 40s fashion, designers featured pinned veils at F/W 2009-10 fashion weeks around the world. Applying this trend to hair, Antoinette Beenders, vice- president of creative for Aveda, crafts carefully engineered looks that transform textured strands into elegant veils.
Using a Marcel wave, the first look pulls sections of hair across the face, forming a peek-a-boo veil over the eyes. Next, Beenders marries a traditional bob with a sheer panel of interwoven copper strands that cover almost the entire face. Lastly, breaking free of the veil, is a style featuring a flat fringe and contained frizz on either side.
