What: A sophisticated night of creative collaboration between the Sebastian hair team led by Daniel DiTommaso from Mane Society and core stylist for Sebastian, and Canadian designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong of Greta Constantine for their SS13 fashion show, held at the classic and classy Distillery District.
How: Hair was slicked back into a two sleek pony tails, secured with Sebastian Shine Crafter wax brushed onto the ponytail from the roots outward, and wrapped like ropes around the base for a low-lying bun. Then, Liquid Steel was gelled on to finish the hair with high-gloss definition. The bun acts as a base for individualized hair ornaments designed by Pickersgill and Wong to make a bold statement against a palette of high contrasts. The shiny, tight hairstyles compliment the designers’ vision and clothing.
Who: DiTommaso selected his team members, who worked backstage at the fashion show with him. The team includes Gianpaulo Columbo from Hairafter Salon & Spa in Toronto, Nathalie Thomas from Texture Hair Salon in Ottawa, Fay Linksman from P&H Salon in Toronto, Lindsay Machete from The Studio Salon in Burlington, Nick Themistocleous from Bilalo Hair Artistry & Spa in Kitchener, Rocco Aricci and Saverio Lacalamita from Mane Society in Bolton and Thornhill, respectively.
Soundbite: “It’s about introducing hair into fashion which is what Sebastian is all about. We’re pushing the envelope,” says DiTommaso on partnering with the fashion designers for the first time.
When & Where: November 29 in Toronto
