What: As part of the official launch of L’Oréal Professionnel’s new Fresh Dust, guests were treated to a fashion-forward event where the Greta Constantine fall collection was unveiled in high style. Daniel Fiorio, owner of Salon Daniel and Spa in Toronto and hairstylist for more than 35 years, created hairstyles for the runway show.
Working with design-duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, Fiorio shaped long hair by pinning strong, sleek hair into a high pony. For short hair, stylists created a clean, structured bob. Drama and “a touch of evil” were added through makeup looks created by senior M.A.C. artist Melissa Gibson.
L’Oréal will also be the official hair partner with Paris Fashion Week in 2012.
Where & When: March 9th, Arcadian Court in Toronto
Soundbite: On the process of creating the hair design for a fashion collection, Fiorio says, “We start the hair design with the designer’s sketches. What hair goes best with the clothes? Then it evolves! The hair you see on the runway is the product of several weeks going back and forth between designer and hairstylist.”
