Peter Coppola, salon owner and creator of Keratin Concept, a Hollywood-glamour smoothing, colour and haircare line that is now launching in Canada, has been doing hair since 1974—including hundreds of brides and models.
Here are his trend predictions for the coming bridal season.
1. Soft & Natural
“The magic word for bridal styles this year is ‘effortless,’” he reveals. “The trend is soft-looking hair. The French twist is a bit passé and now the look is very natural-looking hair, as though the bride did it herself.”

2. Simple Shapes & Classic Styles
To achieve an uncomplicated look that still speaks of big-day elegance, Coppola recommends looking at how this style was done at the 2014 Academy Award red carpet. “It’s wispy hair; one-side pinned; a cascade; or a chic ponytail,” he lists off.

3. Delicate Accessories
To really nail the consultation, “ask to see what the gown looks like. Take the dress into consideration of the hair. For example, if it’s a sexy gown, go for a low, sexy ponytail. If it’s a frilly dress, put something soft and pretty in her hair, like a hair piece or a floral pin,” says Coppola. Accessories can work wonders in place of veil.
