This year, Aveda Canada will be celebrating 10 years of giving back with WaterAid, a partnership to provide clean water for communities in need across the globe. Aveda is no stranger to fundraising, and has contributed $38 million to WaterAid so far, with $3.5 million raised from Aveda Canada Earth Month Initiatives.
To celebrate this milestone, Aveda Canada is launching a three-year Madagascar project, where funds raised during Earth Month initiatives will be invested into Sabotsy Anjiro and Belavabary regions (amounting to 19,000 people), allowing them 100% clean water access. A few members of the Aveda team travelled to Madagascar last year to see first-hand the communities their efforts would be supporting.
How Can You Give Back?
Walk For Water: On April 25, across 14 cities in Canada, you’re invited to join the Aveda Canada team in a six-kilometre walk for water. The distance represents the average journey that millions of people take every day to seek out clean drinking water in Madagascar. We’ve put together a Salon Magazine team, and will be walking in Toronto, so come join us! For more information and to register, check out: https://collegaearthmonth.com/walk-for-water/
Appointments for Clean Water: Formerly known as National Cut-a-Thon, Appointments for Clean Water raises money by offering services at a discounted price, with proceeds benefiting WaterAid. These appointments will be offered on April 25—call to reserve your spot, as these will fill up quickly! See participating salons: https://collegaearthmonth.com/appointments
Catwalk For Water: Come out to get inspired and give back! On Sunday, May 1, Catwalk for Water will showcase fashion and hair inspired by water and created from eco-friendly materials. Presented by Peter Gray, Lupe Voss and Frank Rizzieri, you won’t want to miss this! For tickets and more info, check out: https://collegaearthmonth.com/catwalk/
