Cool platinums ahead! For the fall/winter season, L’Oréal Professionnel anointed three international style makers to star in their colour collection, It Looks, and gave them a colour do-over that you can also adopt in the salon for your queenly clients. Here’s how to create the three looks.
1. Silver blond chignon on French singer/actress, Ella Waldmann (Natural level 7, 8)
Preparation
Isolate the pieces for pre-lightening.
For global colour, mix 1 tube INOA 8.11 + 60 g. of 20 vol. Rich Developer.
For the sombré, mix Platinum Ammonia-free + 30 vol. NutriDeveloper.
Tone sombré with DIALight 10.21 + 9 vol. DIActivateur.
Tone pre-lightened pieces with ½ DIALight clear 9.11 + 6 vol. DIActivateur.
- Application
- Apply Platinum Ammonia-free to five randomly placed pieces around the front hairline from 1” of the root to the ends.
- Apply Platinum Ammonia-free to the lengths on the rest of the hair.
- Develop for 50 minutes, at most.
- Apply INOA 8.11 at the roots out to mid-lengths, making sure to blend with fingers where the sections of INOA 8.11 meets the Platinum Ammonia-free to create a soft diffusion from dark to light.
- Develop for 35 minutes from the completion of root area application.
Rinsing
- At the end of the development time, remove Platinum.
- Carefully emulsify INOA. Rinse thoroughly.
- Perform two shampoos with INOA Post-Color Shampoo.
- On damp, towel-dried hair, re-select the five pieces pre-lightened from 1” of the root, isolate using Sweet Meches and apply DIALight 9.11 + DIALight Clear. On the lengths and ends of the remainder of the hair, apply DIALight 10.21. After the desired result is achieved, rinse out.
