Creative director for Wella Professionals, Sherman Wong, took the creative lead at the 29th annual Contessa Awards for the brand’s colourful, retro-inspired presentation, inspired by iconic styles pertaining to various eras including the ’20s, ’60s and ’80s. “For the ’60s, the colour story is very vibrant—patterns on the hair and lots of colour blocking,” he explains. “For the ’80s, it’s more of the party scene, so we wanted to bring out some grunginess and showcase the vibrancy of the era.” To find out more about what inspired this presentation, see our full behind-the-scenes interview.
