L’Oréal Professionnel, a Contessa silver sponsor, took the stage to present “Nefarious”, a collection featuring geometric shapes and extraordinary avant-garde styles.
Led by the brand’s portfolio artists Norm Wright, Frank Cini and Daniel Naumovski from Toronto-based salon Taz Hair Co., the presentation featured models who individually showcased unique and intricate hairstyles, which included a tribal braid, a slick and sleek segment, and an origami tribute.
“Our presentation showcases the dark side of how hair has evolved,” says Wright. “Taz does not underestimate the talent in the audience tonight, so we wanted to show them something different.”
Aiming to push creative boundaries, Wright says that they wanted to take hair “to a place we havn’t gone before,” explaining that this was the reason they began experimenting with origami.
“We’ve done a lot of growing in the past couple of years, both professionally and personally,” he says. “And this collection is a personification of that.”
