We love the new trend toward orange in nails. There have been some designs using the shade we’ve noticed on our Pinterest board (you’re following us there as well, right?)
Here, we feature a stylish spring design with a how-to from the designer!
Who: Camille Elisa of Pshiiit.com
What: Essie Orange it’s Obvious, Essie Navigate Her
Where: Paris, France
Technique
1. Apply Navigate Her as the base coat. Ideally, use a top coat, such as Scotch Seche Vite, to quicken drying time.
2. Create the triangle with strips of less-sticky pieces of tape. Elisa suggests two techniques: Snip the end of a tape piece to create a clean, centred triangle and attach it to the tip of the nail. Or, take two broader pieces of tape and lay it on both side of the nail, exposing just the nail trip in the shape of a triangle.
3. Paint Orange it’s Obvious onto the taped nail. Let the polish dry somewhat, before removing the tip. Elisa suggests removing the tape one side at a time, regardless of which technique you choose, to avoid the polish from bleeding outside of the line.
4. Finish with a top coat.
