The anti-shampoo movement has been a growing trend, as more people try to extend the time between washes to preserve their style, lengthen the life of hair colour, avoid supposedly harsh cleansing agents, and bask in the glory of the unwashed hair look.
Dry shampoos were just the start. Now, “co-washing” –or “Conditioner Washing”—is going to influence the next wave of haircare products. These conditioner-like formulas, which gently cleanse hair while maintaining its natural integrity, are meant to completely replace traditional shampoos.
Launching soon in Canada is one such line: unwash haircare. The main star of the collection is the Bio-Cleansing Conditioner, a non-stripping cleanser containing naturally-derived, rinse-off emulsifiers that don’t lather or damage the cuticle, thereby preserving the hair’s natural oils, colour and moisture balance.
Paired with unwash Anti-residue Rinse (for those with lots of product buildup) and unwash Hydrating Masque to replenish moisture, the whole line promises softer, smoother and healthier hair—sans the suds.
Are you willing to go “no-poo” for your ’do?
