For those long summer days and nights, light up clients’ nails with the new Essie Neon colours, complete with six sunny-licious shades. Update your salon’s nail art repertoire with inspiration by Eugenia from Ommorphia Beauty Bar, who shares how she created this hot set of talons with all the Neon colours.
You’ll Need
- All six colours in the Essie Neon 2013 collection
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Double-ended dotting tool
Step 1
After applying a base coat and one coat of Essie Blanc to all the nails, paint two coats of Bouncer It’s Me as a base shade. Make sure to wait two to five minutes between coats.
Step 2
Add a top coat. Allow the top coat to dry for five to 10 minutes, to ensure that the dotting pattern will not mar the surface of the base shade.
Step 3
Starting with Boom Boom Room, the lightest shade, use the smaller end of the dotting tool to apply a few dots along the sides of each nail, approximately three or four dots.
Step 4
Dip the larger end of the dotting tool into Bottle Service and apply three to five dots along the cuticle line.
Step 5
Follow with a few sparse dots using Shake Your $$ Maker, and randomly dot Saturday Disco Fever into any empty spaces.
Step 6
Dip both the small and large ends of the tool into DJ Play That Song and add a few random dots.
Step 7
Allow a full five minutes after the last colour has been applied before adding another layer of top coat to seal it all in.
