With more and more people in search of natural-looking colour options, are you equipped to offer them what they are looking for?
Revlon Professional’s Color Excel by Revlonissimo is a new ammonia-free, demi-permanent hair colour option that’s versatile enough to give both colourists and clients exactly what they want.
With 58 intermixable shades (and one clear), Color Excel offers Tone-on-Tone and Playful Tones for creating everything from natural and subtle bases to pastel and fantasy shades.
“The Playful Tones can be used on their own as pure colour, or they can be mixed with any Colour Excel shade to either intensify or neutralize,” says Marlo Steenman, an ambassador for Revlon Professional.
When creating cool blonde looks, these shades are a great option because “the pigment weight in our .02, or violet tones in 8.2 or 9.2 are a lot stronger than what we used to have, so you can get that cool tone and cancel out any yellow more than ever before,” adds Kirsten McIntosh, technical development specialist for Revlon Professional.
Color Excel also features C5 technology, which is specifically designed for enhancing reds and coppers. Steenman recommends using the Tone-on-Tone shades with a ribbon colour technique, in which she uses diagonal sections to colour the hair for a multidimensional result.
With so much to love about Color Excel, there’s more! The line has also been formulated with a care complex featuring cotton extract to protect the hair fibre. In other words: It’s colour that also works like a hair mask. Plus, these demi-permanent shades have been designed to match perfectly with Revlonissimo Colorsmetique’s permanent portfolio, allowing colourists to achieve uniform colour results.
However, the main point of difference for Color Excel is the hypergloss shine, which provides hair with a shiny, multi-reflective finish on all hair colours. “This is great for colour that’s just coming out of summer, or for people feeling like their colour is dull. Their hair colour may even be natural, or they might have all-grey hair and are just looking for shine,” says McIntosh, who suggests the brand’s 3D colour shine service, which is a 15-minute add-on service that combines Color Excel’s clear shade with Revlon’s Ultra Soft Energizer six-volume developer and Anti-Porosity Milk for a gloss that lasts up to 20 washes.
“The beauty of this service is that it will truly give you that ‘glass hair’ look that’s in big demand,” adds Steenman, who also recommends this service for curly hair.
With more people looking for flexible, low-commitment colour options, Color Excel is a demi-permanent option that checks all the boxes. “In today’s world, having an ammonia-free colour in the salon is a must,” says Steenman. “I have some clients with sensitive scalps, and some who are wanting a low-commitment colour or a colour refresher. With the versatility of Color Excel, I can take care of all my clients’ colour needs.”
