Seagram’s Escapes, the authority when it comes to summertime refreshments, teamed up with Essie’s Rita Remark to create two summer-inspired nail art designs and show you how to get the looks.
Sun & Sea Manicure
You’ll Need: Essie Top and Base Coats; Essie Topless & Barefoot; Blanc; and Bikini So Teeny.
1. Start with a thin layer of Essie base coat.
2. Apply two coats of Topless & Barefoot on all nails and allow to dry.
3. Starting a fifth of the way down the nail, use Essie Blanc to paint three graduating steps on each ring finger, by applying the first stripe, followed by the second slightly lower and the third even lower.
4. Wait five minutes for the polish to dry before the next step.
5. Finish the look by adding an accent of blue. With Bikini So Teeny redo the same three steps, but just slightly beneath the white to create the wave effect.
6. Finish with a thin layer of Essie top coat.
Polo Stripe Manicure
You’ll Need: Essie Top and Base Coats; Essie Absolutely Shore; Bachelorette Bash; and French Affair, a striping brush.
1. Start with a thin layer of Essie base coat.
2. Polish every nail (except the pinkies) with two coats of Essie Absolutely Shore and allow nails to dry.
3. Paint pinky nails with two coats of Bachelorette Bash and allow nails to dry.
4. With a striping brush dipped in Bachelorette Bash, add vertical stripes to the ring and middle fingers.
5. Have a thinner stripe in the middle of the ring finger nail followed by a final stripe on the side of the middle finger.
6. Finish the polo gradient by dipping the striping brush in French Affair and add another set of stripes beside the hot pink ones to create a soft pink gradient.
7. Seal with a thin layer of Essie top coat.
