The book Lisa Muscat stumbled upon, Mao’s Last Dancer, was the main inspiration for her most recent collection, Force. During this time there was intrigue and colour within the Chinese culture and children were selected to take part in Mao’s revolution.This fostered the warrior influence, with a feminine strength. Like most ideas, Muscat’s inspiration transformed over time into a theme that focused on the strength of Indian, Native American and African cultures.
