What: Hair was cool and modern when Salon Magazine got a sneak-peak at Tressa’s photo shoot for their 2012 collection. Drawing inspiration from the ‘60s, the three-person cut-and-colour team gave modern interpretations to retro looks. The concept behind their collection is fashion-forward but commercial, with an all-year wearability that can be slightly modified through the seasons without digging too deeply into the pockets. The stylists also used products from Tressa’s newly revamped styling line, available in April 2012.
Who: Platform artist Shannon Tully used colour blocking to achieve a colour contrast to a red sweetheart bang set against a jet-black shoulder-length cut. Creative director Alvin Charchuck took his shears to school with geometric lines on a Twiggy-esque bob, feathered out with bronze highlights on a white-metallic blonde. The third look is long, using three different shades of coppery, cool reds, selectively streaked through the hair. Director of education, Scarlet Hudson, says that fringe is a must-have in the collection because of the way it highlights the eyes in each look.
When & Where: November 30 at Tully’s salon, The Big T’zz in Brampton, Ont.
