Almost 60,000 beauty professionals from all over the globe headed to Frankfurt, Germany for one of the planet’s biggest beauty shows: Hair and Beauty Hairworld.
For three days, spectators enjoyed inspiring presentations and trend forecasts from the world’s top international stylists from brands like L’Oréal Professional, Paul Mitchell, Redken, Sassoon, Sebastian, Schwarzkopf Professional, Wella, and many more. The show also highlighted a special Green Salon section, which featured lectures and ecological exhibitions devoted to sustainable beauty.

1,300 participants from more than 50 countries competed in the Organisation Mondiale Coiffure’s (OMC) Hairdressing World Championships. Canada had a distinguished group of delegates who competed live. They were:

Canada placed 10th in the Creative Techincal Blow Dry, and 6th in the Woman’s Progessive Cut and Style category. Individual competitor scores were: Christina Sgro, 12th; Teija Tucker, 7th; Brianna Cook, 25th; and Jag Moussa, 7th. Some of team Canada’s sponsors were the ABA, CABA, Kasho, Pivot Point and Sam Villa. Germany took home the top prize. Don Grylls also received an Outstanding Achievement Award from OMC for his contributions to the beauty industry in Canada. The next world championships will be held in Korea in 2016.
