At a time when client-customized services have become the standard, L’Oréal Professionnel has stepped up the game with a new innovation in hair care, Série Expert. A new line of in-salon services, Série Expert gives hairstylists the tools they need to give their clients healthier hair, while increasing their bottom line. “Light, soft and natural to the touch, the hair doesn’t feel artificially treated and adds a lot of shine in the hair. It’s a first in salon personalized treatments,” says Christine Longo, Ontario Professional Development Manager.
Here are three reasons you need to start offering your clients this range of customized in-salon treatments today.
1. Healthier in No Time
When your client bookings are already scheduled back to back, making the time to fit in another service might feel like a tough call, but Série Expert can be customized quickly by asking the right questions. “Série Expert keeps it simple,” says Longo. “By asking [clients] their top priority for their hair, hairstylists can choose their right additive and the client comes away from the service with proof they were heard.”
Longo emphasizes the importance of connecting with your client on an emotional level. “It’s totally different than simply making a recommendation because you’re appealing to their emotions,” she says. By offering a solution that’s based on how they feel about their hair, you are making the connection with the client in a new way and that’s what will make the difference in how they feel when they walk out of your salon.
2. Mixology 101
With Série Expert’s Powermix, hairstylists can now offer their clients an in-salon hair mask treatment that can be personalized to a client’s individual needs. Combining two liquids to form a gel, Longo says Powermix’s micellar technology means this treatment delivers intense nutrients that penetrate the hair. “When the Powermix is combined in front of the client, at this point the treatment has the highest concentration of conditioning lipids,” says Longo, adding that it’s this high concentration of the treatment ingredients that will transform the hair efficiently in one five- to 10-minute treatment.
3. It’s All in the Additives
Using one base, the Powermix is created with one of five additives, chosen by the hairstylist depending on the client’s needs. For example, the additive for colour-treated hair contains vitamins E and B5—key nutrients that revitalize and nourish. As part of this personalized treatment, you may offer a different additive to your clients at their next appointment, should they identify a different need. In the same way, Longo says that the Série Expert line of home care products can be mixed and matched, offering a longer lasting treatment experience.
Along with the innovation with Série Expert, Longo also believes the connections with clients is at the heart of a hairstylists’ success. “What helps most is making that emotional connection,” she says. “Then you can help them commit to the treatment you’re offering.” More than treatment services, it’s about building relationships with your clients and creating connections that will bring them back to your salon again and again.
