When it comes to bridal hairstyles, whether the bride aims for a romantic, dramatic, or bohemian style, achieving a clean and textured look is key! To achieve a polished texture, frizz-free smoothing shampoos, conditioners, thermal round brushes, curling irons, and straightening irons are essential tools. According to Caralee Pridemore, a Sam Villa Ambassador, brides adore the high shine of this look as it adds a special and beautiful touch they often don’t have the time to achieve themselves, and it also photographs stunningly well. Learn step-by-step details on how to create this beautifully textured boho bridal bun for your clients.
How To: Boho Bridal Bun
Step One: Take 1″ vertical sections and create curls all over using a Sam Villa Artist Series 2-in-1 Marcel Iron & Wand 1”.
Step Two: At the crown area, use a Sam Villa Signature Series Sleekr Professional Straightening Iron to keep all of the sectioning clean and curl down the hair slice. Leave some of the pieces underneath straight for a more dimensional style.
Step Three: Use a texture spray or workable hairspray to create more grip in the hair and backcomb all over the crown area and front sections to build in volume.
Step Four: Section out face-framing pieces and set aside.
Step Five: Start working in the center and create twists all over the crown area, pinch and pull apart.
Step Six: Create a low ponytail at the base.
Step Seven: Create two twists and overdirect each section to create a bun and secure with pins.
Step Eight: Use the Sleekr to compress base sections to create volume and dimension.
Step Nine: Take the remaining face-framing pieces and use a Marcel iron to create curls. Separate curls and lay them over the crown area and bun to create more dimension and texture.
Step Ten: Add a beautiful accessory.
