Website BEATNIK Salon
Are you a fun and talented stylist who wants to live their BEST LIFE in the Canadian Rockies while working at the BEST SALON in Banff?
BEATNIK Salon is looking for a full-time hairstylist to join our team of Hairos. We’re a busy and swanky, community-focused and environmentally-friendly hair salon offering high-end, gender-neutral services in a casual, ‘good vibes only’ setting, where there’s never a dull moment and always a lot of laughs. Every day at BEATNIK is a great day!
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years experience in cutting short and long styles, upstyling and colouring hair. Our stylists are confident in all aspects of hairstyling, and have friendly and professional demeanours, great communication skills and a positive presence in the community. They prioritize personal and professional growth, and work-life balance. Knowledge of COLOR.ME and the KEVIN.MURPHY product line is a bonus.
Other fun perks: we offer the opportunity to build your portfolio through styling for photo shoots, we host live music events in-salon that are awesome for networking, and our clients bring their dogs to their appointments!
A little about us: We’ve always been inspired by the BEAT generation – in the 1950s, a generation of artists, poets and musicians countered American culture after the war, rejecting materialism, exploring spiritualism and starting a counter-culture revolution. As the name implies, we’re a bunch of BEATNIKs – we’re creating our own counter-culture, stepping away from the current salon norm and towards an open community space that supports the arts, from live music to magicians, to artists and improv groups. The classic stuffy hair salon has been done – so we’re doing something different!
We’ve created a safe, friendly and accepting space where our staff and clients can express themselves without judgement. We’re a place to hang out, make new friends and connect with the community – AND leave with great hair!
