Kérastase’s latest launch is the Discipline collection, which marries in-salon treatments with at-home care so your clients can keep their smooth locks long after their trip to the salon.
What it does: The Discipline smoothing system gives unruly-haired clients smooth hair from root to tip for up to 10 washes, without requiring a chemical treatment. The in-salon component soaks into hair, repairing and smoothing out its fibres, while leaving it soft, shiny and resistant to humidity. The at-home care line, complete with Bain Fluidealiste shampoo, Fondant Fluidealiste rinse-out smoothing emulsifier, Maskeratine masque and Fluidissime leave-in anti-frizz spray, extends the in-salon portion for up to 10 washes.
How it works: The in-salon treatment uses pro-keratin and bio-mimetic ceramide technologies—Morpho-Keratine and Research Ceramide—to smooth the hair at the fibre level. The Morpho-Keratine complex is a combination of amino acids and wheat proteins that strengthen hair at the base, leaving it fortified and smooth. The at-home care collection is infused with the same smoothing polymers and ceramides to help keep that silky smooth feeling lasting.
Best use: After performing the 45-minute treatment on clients, advise them to use the collection in tandem with one another. Start with the Bain Fluidealiste shampoo (also available in a sulfate-free formula), and follow by massaging the Fondant Fluidealiste into damp towel-dried hair and leave on for one to two minutes before rinsing out. Finish by spraying the Fluidissime onto damp towel-dried hair prior to blow-drying and use the Maskeratine as needed.
