As the first professional salon network to achieve gold status with Green Circle Salons (GCS), Kevin.Murphy continues to make the environment a priority. Last year, the brand nearly doubled the number of participating salons, with 116 salons joining the program. As of today, there are 244 Kevin.Murphy salons participating with GCS. Last year, the brand also reduced nearly 110,000 pounds of waste (approximately 54,910 pounds from its Canadian salons!) and hopes to come close to doubling the number for 2017. “As an individual, I’ve always cared about environmental issues, but it wasn’t until I created my own line of products that I became aware of just how much harm the production processes of any product have on the environment,” says the brand’s founder, Kevin Murphy. “At Kevin.Murphy we make every effort to do our part to help the environment, as we recognize that preserving our environment is essential to our existence. In our industry, we can come together and unite our efforts as brands to make a lasting impact on our environment and educate and encourage our communities to practice the same initiatives in an ongoing effort.”
