Homegrown company KhairPep knows that damaged hair is often inevitable during harsh Canadian winters and they’re working to fix that with the KhairPep Transforme Serum and Masque.
What it does: Both the KhairPep Serum and Masque help repair damaged hair, caused by colouring, external stressors and years of styling. While the Serum is a great pre-blow-dry dose of moisture, the Masque goes a little deeper for a more intensive repairing treatment.
How it works: The pair of products use the innovative K18Peptide technology, which bonds to the proteins found inside the hair cortex to make it stronger and more resistant to breakage. Penetrating beyond the surface of the hair, the Serum offers instant results with its lightweight formula, while the Masque provides a deep and intense treatment for extremely broken and brittle hair.
While a team of European researches was working on restoring pieces for a museum, they discovered a long-chain peptide that could work to repair wool fibres. They then adapted the technology to be able to repair hair, making it stronger.
Best use: For the Serum, shampoo hair as usual, but do not condition. Spray evenly throughout damp hair and then comb through and leave on to soak into hair for two-four minutes before styling. Spray more as needed. For the Masque, shampoo hair as usual, but do not condition. Take a small nickel-sized amount and work through hair evenly, from the crown of the head to the tips. Let soak for three-four minutes and style as usual, without rinsing the Masque out.
