For L’Oréal Professionnel’s Hair Fashion Night, held on June 7, 2018, more than 30 countries participated in the third annual event.
At The Symes in Toronto, more than 40 Ontario-based hairstylists and makeup artists provided attendees with the opportunity to have a one-on-one hairstyling session and makeup application. The annual event is also a business-building opportunity for hairstylists to meet potential new clients.
Editorial hairstylist and L’Oréal Professional artist Matthew Collins was also in attendance, giving selected guests the “insta-famous” treatment.
Past Contessa winner and owner of Salon Decorum in Newmarket, Ont., Mandy McFadden and her team participated in the event for the first time. She says it was a great team-building experience for her and her staff.
Combining hair and fashion for a night-out is always a win-win! And with a live DJ, cocktails and a photo booth, it was fun for all.
L’Oréal Professionnel also debuted its partnership with Canadian fashion designer Hayley Elsaesser. They collaborated on two travel pouches (perfect for carrying hair products around in this summer!). “L’Oréal wanted to offer something cute in the salons for clients to hold on to and use in the summer. The pouch can fit the hair products that they purchased in the salon, and we kept them clear so you can see what’s inside. We included some cute graphics on them—one is pastel hair, inspired by L’Oréal’s packaging,” says Elsaesser. “I love beauty, hair and makeup just as much as I love fashion. It’s such an amazing way to express yourself. And I’ve always wanted to do something with a hair brand. I think it’s a really nice fit.”
The brand will also be unveiling their campaign with Elsaesser, including a series of videos, later this month.
