We explain how Moroccanoil Educator/Spokesperson Kevin Hughes created three of our amazing November/December photo shoot hairstyles.
Smooth Retro Waves
1. Apply Moroccanoil Treatment as a foundation from mid-length to ends on freshly shampooed hair. Apply Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse from root to tip. Set the hair in small- to medium-sized rollers all over the head. Place under a dryer until dry. (You can use a curling iron instead of setting, but may not get as much volume as a result.)
2. Once dry, brush out the whole head blending all sections together. Use a small amount of Moroccanoil Treatment to polish ends.
3. Tease top sections of hair depending on desired volume level.
4. Shape and define face-framing curls using your teasing brush (or your hand). You can also use a decorative hair accessory to hold back one side of the hair for added drama and interest. Complete by layering the Moroccanoil Hairspray Strong for added hold.
Voluminous Faux Bob
1. Apply Moroccanoil Treatment from mid-lengths to end on freshly shampooed hair. Follow with Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse. For extra lift at the root, try our Moroccanoil Root Boost. Set the hair into small- to medium-sized rollers all over the head. Place under a dryer until dry. (You can use a curling iron instead of setting, but may not get as much volume as a result.)
2. Brush out the whole head focusing on smoothing out all sections and blending them together. Apply a small amount of Moroccanoil Treatment to polish ends.
3. Tease top sections of hair depending on desired volume level. Smooth over the teased section with your teasing brush.
4. Once the hair is smoothed out, gently pull up a small section of hair in the back of the head pinning it into place to create a faux bob. Make sure to create an even line for the base of the bob.
5. Gently pull any shorter pieces out of the front so it has a natural look, using your teasing brush and fingers, defining and shaping curls as desired using the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong. Lightly mist Glimmer Shine on the hair for added holiday “sparkle”.
Sleek “Mod” Roll
1. Apply Moroccanoil Treatment to damp hair from mid-length to ends. Follow by applying Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse all over the hair. Set hair in small- to medium-sized rollers all over the head. Place under a dryer until dry. (You can use a curling iron instead of setting, but may not get as much volume as a result.)
2. Brush out the entire head using the Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Paddle Brush, smoothing all sections together.
3. Separate a U-shaped top section of hair from the crown to the front hair line and clip out of the way. Separate the sides and middle section from a bottom section.
4. Take the bottom section, and spray Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium from the roots towards the mid-lengths, while brushing the hair into a low, sleek ponytail. Secure with a clear elastic. Use the Moroccanoil Molding Cream for extra control.
5. Now take the rest of the middle section, and spray Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium from the roots towards the mid-lengths, while brushing the hair into another clean ponytail. Secure with a clear elastic. By creating two ponytails, it’s easier to get a smooth, flat look finish.
6. Tease the top section backwards towards the crown, and brush out until it’s almost perfectly smooth. Then create a roll at the bottom by gathering the hair from the top section and both ponytails and pinning underneath in a loop.
7. Set the whole look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong. For red carpet shine, mist lightly with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine.
