What: Gleaming from the inside out, the second Mosaic Salon location has a reason to shine: green energy. Owners, Peter Salituro and Robert Spizziri knew they wanted to embody the philosophy of sustainable beauty when planning for the second location, and Pureology approached them to create a partnership. Having a clean, refined brand is what Pureology and Mosaic have in common, which shows from all the details in Mosaic’s second salon, from the space-saving collapsible storage in the styling stations, to reclaimed wood floors on the second level, to the in-demand water system that only uses water as the need arises. Both salon locations are now streamlined as exclusively Pureology and L’Oréal Professionnel, brands which honour the earth with recycled packaging, less water usage and a consistently progressive and chic image.
Designed by Equilibrium Interior Design and Lanvain, the three-leveled salon took one and half years for the spot to be transformed from a state of disrepair. “We saw this space and thought it would be perfect – it just needed some reconstruction,” says Salituro. Compared to Mosaic’s first location, the second exudes a more intimate boutique mood nestled in the Forest Hill.
Soundbite: “Lighting is the best investment a salon can make to become more green,” says Salituro. “The lighting at Mosaic is mixed with halogen and LED to create the right balance of colour and mood.”
