We choose our favourite updo, bob, ponytail and side-swept hairstyle from the Emmy’s red carpet.

Dianna Agron – Best Updo
While she may play a high school student on television, Dianna looked nothing short of sophisticated on the red carpet with this simple updo. The side-swept bangs frame her face nicely and the retro bump towards the crown adds a feeling of old Hollywood glamour. This style also works perfectly to show off cool earrings and the high collar of her draped gown.
Nina Dobrev – Best Side-Swept Tresses
Side-swept hair dos have been spotted on celebs all year long, and the Emmy’s were no exception. However, we think that Nina Dobrev did the best job of making this style look fresh again. Rather than creating a cascade of curls, Nina kept it simple with just a few large, loose ringlets. The soft side part and loose hair behind her ear keep this style from looking overdone. The simple earrings and choker are the perfect, current accessories.
Aubrey Plaza – Best Bob
While you may not instantly recognize this young starlet due to her role as a mousy intern on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, she made a statement on the red carpet with a modern take on the classic bob. The deep side part adds a bit of edge to her look and shows off gorgeous tear-drop earrings. The big, loose curls and asymmetrical shape of the bob keep the whole look young and modern.
Julie Bowen – Best Ponytail
Sleek ponytails are always a hit with celebrities, so it’s difficult for stylists to make this look original. However, Julie’s centre part and blunt edged, side-swept tail are a nice update to an old classic. We love that it doesn’t look too wet or full of styling product, and stands in perfect contrast to her sparkly, detailed dress.
