Salon owners and stylists from across North America “gathered” in Las Vegas from August 13-15 for John Paul Mitchell Systems’ annual Business rEvolution and Gathering.
The three-day event was filled with artistic expression and inspiration from leading stylists, salon owners and industry legends, who took the stage for engaging presentations, business coaching and hands-on workshops.
The Business rEvolution kicked off with motivational business and development speeches led by John Paul Mitchell Systems co-founder and chairman John Paul DeJoria, along with Robert Cromeans, global artistic and business director for John Paul Mitchell Systems and Antony Whitaker, bestselling author and hairdresser. Additional speakers who took the stage include Terri Cowan, owner of Professional Salon Concepts Distributor and owner of Paul Mitchell The Schools in Escanaba, Michigan, Chicago and Lombard, Jason Yates, VP of sales and marketing for John Paul Mitchell Systems, Sharyn Belkin Locke, VP, creative director for John Paul Mitchell Systems, Carol Phillips, industry consultant, trainer and speaker, and Van Council, owner of Van Michael Salons and artistic director for Intercoiffure.
The Gathering’s festivities began with a grand opening show featuring John Paul Mitchell Systems’ leading global artists. Attendees got a chance to experience two artistic Look & Learn classes and participated in either two hands-on haircutting and colour classes or interactive business development classes for salon owners and managers. In the evening, attendees got glammed up for the event’s Black Tie Affair, in which they had an opportunity to mingle and network.
For the final day, attendees were able to partake in two additional hands-on classes and experienced men’s, grooming and style Look & Learn presentations. The Gathering came to a close with the event’s grand finale show of inspirational looks featuring Paul Mitchell’s latest colour lines The Demi and Pop XG.
