It was the event all Canadian Redkenites had been waiting for. After two long years of saying goodbye at the last edition of Fusion, the largest manufacturer education event in Canada with over 1 100 attendees was back at the Queen Elizabeth hotel, in Montreal.
Fusion 2014 started with a big splash at the St-Hubert airport hangar, in the outskirts of Montreal, on the evening of Sunday, June 1st. The spectacular presentation featured fabulous hair created by the über-talented Redken team and formidable art direction duo Pascal & Jérémie.
Education is key
Monday and Tuesday, it was time to sit down for some serious education sessions presented by Chris Baran, Redken Education Artistic Director, Jorge Jao, Philip Barwick (Australia), Sean Godard, Adam Browne (UK), Marylin Rose, Lauren Hagen (US) , Catherine Allard, Celene Dupuis, as well as business gurus Michael Cole and Peter Mahoney. All showcased incredibly useful tips and techniques to ‘learn better, to earn better and live a better life.’
A regular fixture at Toronto Fashion Week, Jorge Jao demonstrates his creative prowess.
Green Circle Salons was also on hand to help hairstylists and colorist understand how salons can ease the burden on the environment with innovative ‘green’ solutions.
This is just part of what salons typically discard in landfills and water streams.
Party like it’s 1977!
To take a break Monday night, everyone flocked to Windsor Station for Studio 54 Monday Night Fever, a tribute to the dazzling era of disco with all the requisite sparkle, bell bottoms and afro wigs that could be contained on the dance floor!
Three generations of Redken General Managers, in order: Scott Moon, Jack Ingraham, Doriane Dalati.
