While we all understand the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) to help keep you, your team and your clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s no denying how much extra waste that disposable masks, gloves and capes are generating in the process.
With this in mind, Green Circle Salons has launched a new program, the PPE Recovery Initiative, which helps salon owners separate any non-recyclable and contaminated waste, and helps them dispose of it separately, reducing the risk of contaminating other recyclable materials. “With the PPE Recovery Initiative, we can ensure that people are kept safe as they return to work, without a single new item entering the landfill,” says Shane Price, founder and CEO of Green Circle Salons.
This initiative provides salons with safe disposal kits, along with educational materials on how to offset the financial costs related to PPE. Instructions on how to safely dispose of these products are included, as is business marketing support to help staff and owners communicate with their clients about how their business is an environmental leader with this program.
