At the Resort S/S14 show for Acne Studios, Franco Gobbi created soft, understated hair, inspired by the Swedish traditions of naturalism and functionality. To complement the fluid, effortless feel of the clothes, long hair was accented by unique textural twists and knots below the crown and topped with lightweight hats. Here, Gobbi shows how to create the look.
Step 1
Apply a volumizing spray, such as Moroccanoil Root Boost (coming soon to Canada) at the roots, and especially at the crown, to provide lift and texture. This also adds a natural-looking shine.
Step 2
Spray hair with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium and use Moroccanoil Professional Series Blowdryer while working hands through the hair, starting from the forehead through to the back and sides. The result is a softened texture with natural movement.
Step 3
Make a V-shape from the crown to the back of the head, forming a low ponytail at mid-height.
Step 4
Lightly spray Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray onto fingers and work through the ponytail for added manageability, smoothness and shine. Then, curl the ponytail around itself to create high-placed, casual-looking, flattened knots. Spray knots with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong and secure with hairpins so that it lays tightly against the top of the head.
Step 5
Spray Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong onto hands and brush loosely through hair to shape and break up the natural waves.
Step 6
Loosen random strands from around the face, creating flyaways. This adds a romantic, softened mood to a slightly windblown look.
Step 7
To finish, spray Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray onto ends and separate any strands that fall below the shoulder for a soft, sensual feeling.
