Keep clients happy with winter hair survival tips from your salon shelf.
As long as we live in Canada, winter is a reality. Respond to your clients’ weather complaints with retail recommendations and keep their hair looking great.
1. Use the tousled look to your advantage
Before going out, put hairspray on a braid and put a hat on. When coming back from the cold, un-braid and shake hair out for soft, textured tresses.
2. Put volume back in the hat
Part hair on the opposite side before putting a hat on, and correct the part when coming back indoors. Recommend a volumizing spray to give oomph where they want it.
3. Don’t forget to give clients’ hair a little TLC in the shower
For dry winter hair, recommend moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to replenish dull strands. Ingredients such as omega and keratin amino acids will re-vitalize damaged hair.
4. Pull out the finishing polish or pomade
Giive clients victory over static wars, by lightly smoothing the finishing product over the surface of hair.
5. Mist on a texturizing spray
Recommend a texturizing spray to freshen and re-define hair when the cap comes off. Talk about how clients can also keep one at home and one on the go for an instant touch-up–and get the sale for both the full-size and travel size versions.
