Revlon Inc. announced on August 5 that it will be purchasing the Colomer group (which includes brands like Revlon Professional, American Crew and CND) for $660 million, which will reunite the beauty brand with its professional division by year end.
Revlon Chief Executive Alan Ennis said that the acquisition will expand Revlon’s business to new customers because of Colomer’s “presence in the professional salon channel, which Revlon currently does not serve.”
Revlon Professional was sold to CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm, in 2000 for $315 million.
