More than 4,400 hairstylists descended on Paris for Revlon Professional’s Style Masters Show. The 8th annual event included the 2016 Style Masters Competition and the American Crew All-Star Challenge. Miquel Garcia Cotado, vice president, global creative director for Revlon Professional hosted the event that recognized the creative work of hairstylists along with announcing new collections for the upcoming year.
Revlon Professional showcased the Malibu collection featuring the brand’s take on beach style with models roller blading down the runway. In addition, Revlon Professional also featured collections for the upcoming year, including Shape-a-Porter and Party.

For the Style Masters Competition, nine country winners presented their looks on stage with each model walking the runway. Miquel Garcia Cotado announced the Global winner, U.K. hairstylist Anne Veck, along with the winners in the Technical (France), Creative (Russia) and Young Talent (Denmark) categories. Canada’s Adrian Carew attended this year’s event, supporting his fellow artists who were on stage this year.
American Crew featured their Elvis Presley inspired collection with each model sporting a variation of Presley’s iconic hairstyle. In addition, the brand also featured its signature collection based on the sport, fashion and rock star styles of the modern man.
Hassan Nasser of Avalon Salon and Spa, Calgary
Last week, 15 country winners for American Crew’s All-Star Challenge were hard at work on their photo shoots with David Raccuglia. Having placed second for Canada last year, this year Hassan Nasser represented Canada and experienced the photo shoot part of the competition for the first time.

But again, Britain snagged the hardware, with Sandra Perovic winning the American Crew All-Star Challenge. Perovic, a former Vancouver-based hairstylist and 2014 Contessa finalist, is currently spending the next two years working and training in the U.K.
