What: More than 44,000 hairstylists from across the UK and Europe gathered for three days of product launches, live demonstrations and stage shows.
Who: Big names appearing on the Salon Live stage included Patrick Cameron and the creative teams from TIGI, Toni & Guy and Sassoon. The teams from top UK salons Mahogany, Saco and é Salon also offered education seminars. On the show floor, great hair was available on several stages including Hairdressers’ Journal, Goldwell, Babyliss Pro and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
When & Where: October 13-15 in London, UK
Highlights:
- At Toni & Guy, international technical director Jason Grey talked colour. For long hair, the team created a light, translucent perimeter of colour. They also were inspired by embellishments and detailing on fabrics and used the same techniques on hair.
- Patrick Cameron’s Spellbound collection was glamour through and through. Inspired by the styles of the ‘30s through the ‘60s, he preached the craft of truly dressing and working hair in a seamless way—a nearly lost art.
- TIGI incorporated a light, iridescent rose gold for blondes that feels like the next step in the pastel trend. The blend of shades is subtle but beautiful and modern.
