With two locations serving the Niagara region, Valvano held their first annual The Ride charity event, benefiting the Wise Guys Charity. Hosted by brothers Felice and Tony Valvano, the one-day event included a 100km ride and finished with food and music and raised over $8000.
Competitions
A Canadian took home the top title at the 25th annual North American Hairstyling Awards. Alain Pereque of Saco Salon Drummond in Montreal, Quebec took home the title of Hairstylist of the Year, along with two other Canadians: Anna Pacitto and Paul Pereira each winning Master Hairstylist of the Year and Men’s Hairstylist of the Year awards respectively. Three Canadian finalists are heading to Berlin in October for Goldwell’s International Color Zoom competition. See the finalists’ work here.
Wella Professionals’ Hairdressers at Heart Charity Challenge celebrated its first Canadian winners. Josée Desnoyers was awarded $2,500 for Maison Pallia Vie De La Rivière Nord, Salon de Beautè Chez Francoise in Prevots, QC and Johnny Bui for JB Heart to Heart Foundation, JB Salon in Langley, BC and Michael Muia for Forty in Forty, Michael’s Hair Design and Day Spa in Thunder Bay, ON, were each awarded $1,000 for their causes.
