Events
-Designer Zac Posen had his inaugural Canadian runway show. At the helm of the show’s hair was Moroccanoil’s Antonio Corral Calero artistic director who took influence from the soft waves of Veronica Lake. See the looks here!
-The three day-long Hair & Beauty Hairworld show took place in Frankfurt, Germany, bringing together brands, stylists and trend forecasters from more than 50 countries. See the best stage show pictures here.
-This year’s International Trend Vision Awards by Wella Professionals took the competition’s finalists to Frankfurt to crown the top trendsetters in the industry. See who took home a title here. -Edmonton was dazzled with the stylistic talents from NAHA- and Contessa-winning hairstylist Tony Ricci at the Edmonton ABA Stage Show. See the top looks and who took home the to prize in the competitions!
-All 65 Miss Universe Canada contestants went to Fiorio Salon and Spa on May 21 for makeup and nail touch ups, courtesy of Revlon Professional. Several contestants were treated to hair styling tips from Fiorio stylists, makeup refresh from Revlon artist Jacquie Hutchinson and polish advice by CND educator Jennifer Mather.
-Milano Haircare Supplier, the official distributor for high-end Italian brand Framesi in Ontario, opened the doors of its new academy in Mississauga on May 25. It will provide training and tools for beauty professionals who use these products. Get more information here.
-Pivot Point International held their annual Cut-a-Thon to benefit the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Pivot Point students around the country provided services, with all proceeds going to the organization. Speaking at the event was Linda Krieg, COO of NCMEC and Alicia Kozakiewicz who is a survivor of child abduction and is now an advocate for internet safety practices and awareness.

-Hairstylist mentor and co-founder of Scruples, Frank Liguori passed away on May 3 at the age of 84. The industry mourns his loss, but his legacy will continue on in salons across North America.
