UNITE Global Sessions 2015: This year’s UNITE Global Sessions will take place in London, UK next month, October 4 to 7, and will feature 21 internationally celebrated artists presenting the lateset in creative styling. The event will allow salon business owners and managers the opportunity to participate in UNITE’s business education support programme and salon team members may elect to receive Look & Learn coaching.
Farouk Systems 2015 Cancun Conference: Over 5,000 attendees headed to Cancun, Mexico for the record breaking global conference September 18 to 22. Featuring educational classes, a runway show debuting the latest trends in hair and colour, fashions from Project Runway’s Dmitry Sholokhov, and performances from Flo Rida and Massari, the conference not only celebrated Farouk Shami’s 50-year legacy of styling and innovation, but also unveiled the brand’s new direction and upcoming product and tool launches.
Saying Goodbye: Industry innovator and KMS California founder, Jamey Mazzotta, passed away earlier this month. The biochemist launched the professional hair care company in 1976, studying the science of hair, and created a legacy.
Leading the way: Robert Cromeans will be taking the reigns at John Paul Mitchell Systems as the brand announced that Cromeans will be stepping into the roles of global artistic director and global business director of John Paul Mitchell Systems.
Climbing the ladder: Essie has announced that lead nail artist for essie Canada, Rita Remark, will be taking her plethora of experience and creative vision to the international level with her newly appointed role as global lead educator.
Moving up: Trevor Attenborough, current president and general manager of Kao USA, Salon Division has been appointed to general manager, Kao Salon Division, North America. With this new role he’ll be undertaking Kao’s Canadian salon division. Mike Parsons, manager for Kao Canada, will continue leading sales, marketing, and education.
