Pure Opulence for Spring
Akin Konizi and the HOB Creative team shared the first look at Wella’s light and airy SS15 “Journey of Enlightenment” collection.
On creating the collection, famed colourist Josh Wood says minimal, de-pigmented shades that still have a luxe vibe will be a key hair colour trend for next season. “The colour for Spring Summer 2015 has been deeply de-saturated to its purest level.”

Fashion Week staple Eugene Soulieman says styling for spring is all about personal experimentation with shape and texture—but with an effortless finish. All of the looks feature mixed textures (shine vs. matte) and shapes (sharp vs. soft) that’s “both structured and free,” says Souleiman.
Grunge for Fall
Mark Hayes, Peter Dawson and Scott Cottis showcased Sassoon Academy’s first-ever grunge-inspired AW14 collection, “Nu-pop,” to open the day’s proceedings.
Cyril Brune interpreted Wella’s AW15 hippie-chic inspired “Uncharted Territory” collection.
Belles of the Ball
Patrick Cameron hosted the event, and created a formal hair segment with princess-worthy ball gowns and updos. He received a standing ovation, and shed a few tears on stage. (Aww!)
Dark Arts
Michael Polsinelli and Shay Dempsey showcased Sebastian Professional’s dramatic new Eclipse Art collection to close the show.
Attendees were also treated to inspiring and educational session with some of the industry’s best. Wood discussed a new approach for offering client’s tailor-made colour services in his “Art of Couture Color” presentation. Soulieman presented a retrospective of his best runway hairstyles and shared insights from his experiences backstage at Fashion Week. Paul Serville, Wella’s new Global Business Ambassador, gave advice on how salons can use the power of influence to grow their business.
It was also announced that the next ITVA will be held in Berlin.
