We all know that education is the key to success, and there are many avenues for learning. Some hairstylists are even taking education and turning it on its head, and here we’re giving you a snapshot of the three collectives that have taken education in a new direction.
THE GOOD ONES ACADEMY
WHAT THEY OFFER
Drawing on their experience working on editorial photo shoots, red-carpet events and on live television, the team atThe Good Ones are able to offer technical education in hairstyling and makeup artistry. Workshops include look-and-learn sessions followed by an opportunity to refine your skills. In addition, a select number of students have the opportunity to work with a photographer and design their own looks for an editorial photo shoot and obtain images for their portfolio. Additional workshops will also be offered including haircutting.
HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT
Editorial hairstyling is a skill that not only takes practice as a hairstylist, but it also requires the ability to learn how hair photographs differently, depending on a number of variables including lighting and the angle of the photographer’s camera lens.
