On Wednesday, April 24, 115 hairstylists from across Australia and New Zealand received their “golden ticket” to the 2019 Hair Expo Awards.
The 115 finalists, chosen across 19 categories, received a special surprise; a package inspired by Charlie & the Chocolate Factory that unveiled their golden ticket.
This announcement delivery replaced a cocktail event, usually held in Sydney, in order to be able to include those who weren’t able to attend the event in previous years.
“We wanted to create something fun and experiential that all our Hair Expo Awards entrants could participate in this year. The response has been amazing and we are so thrilled for all our finalists!” said event director, Cory Watson.
“The standard of work that is produced for these awards is always incredible, but this year, Australian and New Zealand hairdressers have once again raised the bar with some exceptional creative collections among our 2019 entries.”
The judging panel was selected by Hair Expo Awards Head judge and awards ambassador, Julie Piantadosi and includes a panel of 11 international judges and ten local judges made up of industry talent, media and business experts.
Piantadosi said, “Our judges were blown away with the amount of creativity and technical skill from our entrants this year. It’s more evident than ever that hairdressers from Australia and New Zealand are among the best in the world and the Hair Expo Awards provide the perfect platform for them to showcase their incredible skill.”
Winners will be announced on Monday, June 10th at Hair Expo Australia in Sydney.
Congratulations to the 2019 Hair Expo finalists!
