The best in music gathered in Los Angeles for the 2017 Grammy Awards. While the show had many spectacular performances, we were wowed by some of the night’s hair and beauty looks. Here are a few of our red carpet faves.
Adele
“Effortlessly classic was the definition of Adele’s red carpet style, which was my favourite of her three hairstyle changes of the night! I loved the natural-looking yet polished nature of this upswept style and the double French twists added volume and interest at the back.” — Anna Lee Boschetto, editor-in-chief
Solange Knowles
“Solange Knowles stunned on the red carpet in a pleated gold Gucci gown and natural-looking makeup with some simple graphic eyeliner. But what I loved best about the Best R&B Performance winner’s look was her hair. Simply gathering her curls in a high pony, Knowles let her natural texture do all the work as she walked the carpet.” — Erin Torrance, digital editor
Katy Perry
“Debuting her new platinum locks, Katy Perry caught us all a little by surprise. As someone who’s never shied away from bold looks, Perry’s new hair was rather tame. But in a red carpet interview, she mentioned that it was the only colour on the Pantone spectrum that she hasn’t tried yet. While the wavy bob appeared quite voluminous on the red carpet, paired with her sequined and feathered Tom Ford gown, it really had the ‘wow’ factor on stage when the singer performed her latest song in a sleek and casual white pantsuit.” — Veronica Boodhan, associate editor
The Chainsmokers
“The Chainsmokers—Alex Pall and Drew Taggart—caught my eye as the best men’s look. Pairing a little tousled texture with a little stubble and some modern suits, the duo looked casually suave, comfortable and completely on trend.” — Erin Torrance, digital editor
Demi Lovato
“The nude dress trend is still sizzling hot on all red carpets. But Demi Lovato’s crochet style gown with gold ring embellishments brought it one step further to the hippie glam side to make it fresh, pretty, and palatable. Sheer perfection with her side-swept tousled locks!” —Yasmin Grothé, editor-in-chief
Paris Jackson
“Paris Jackson’s side-swept beach waves exude youthful elegance and total confidence. This textured, natural style really counterbalanced the sparkling Balmain jumpsuit that was completely red carpet worthy.” — Anna Lee Boschetto, editor-in-chief
Mya
“Wearing red on the red carpet can be a daring choice, but Mya flawlessly pulled off this look wearing a custom Styland pantsuit with feminine cutouts. The Grammy-nominated singer’s layered lob was a sleek look on the red carpet and is sure to provide plenty of spring cut inspo this upcoming season.” — Veronica Boodhan, associate editor
Lady Gaga
“Lady Gaga always goes bold on the red carpet and last night was no exception as she walked it with heavy metal band and her performance partners for the evening, Metallica (#MetalliGa). While her ensemble was certainly heavy metal inspired, her cotton candy pink and orange highlights, platinum blonde colour and voluminous high pony caught our eye. Her loose curls and roughed up texture gave her style that rock star glam finishing touch.” — Erin Torrance, digital editor
