Inside the tents at the Fall/Winter 2014 New York Fashion Week during February 6 to 13, hair was hot as six Canadian Schwarzkopf Essential Artists took to the chairs at Betsey Johnson and Rag and Bone. Michael Dueñas, Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ and BC Hairtherapy brand ambassador (USA) led the team at Betsey Johnson. “Think Bridgette Bardot meets modern-day rock and roll,” he says, describing the edgy look that paired perfectly with the bold wardrobe. A very different atmosphere accompanied the Rag and Bone show, where lead stylist Paul Hanlon crafted a low-slung ponytail with mussed-up texture.
The elite team includes Kathy Simon, Michelle Oliver, Joey Marchese, Matty Conrad, Rossa Jurenas, Jean-Sebastien Lacombe and it was the first time that the EL Artists styled on the runways at the Big Apple. On the experience, Michael says, “Leading a team of Schwarzkopf artists is like working with a well-oiled machine. Everyone knows the same terminology and all hands work as one. It is truly a unique experience.” Joey Marchese adds, “I got into the industry because of a NYFW runway show I saw on TV, so to actually be a part of it now was nothing I could have ever imagined.”
