It’s always fun to play Monday morning quarterback after an awards show, and the Golden Globes are an especially good one. A mix of A-list movie stars and the most popular actors and actresses on TV, all walking the red carpet. Here are three trends we spotted from the show. Which ones do you think will make it into the most wanted styles for proms and weddings this spring?
1. If you need any more evidence that stick straight hair is over and out, look no further than last night’s event. Whether it was long and loose or gently swept back in an updo, texture was everywhere. Waves, natural or not, reigned supreme.
Long and loose: Tina Fey, Jessica Biel, Julianne Moore and Kristen Wiig
Textured updo: Sarah Hyland, Emma Stone and Kate Winslet
2. Height is in! Anyone who remembers the “waterfall” bangs of the early ’90s might be shuddering right now, but there was no doubt that volume above the forehead was back on the red carpet.
Volume on top: Julie Bowen, Melissa McCarthy, Tilda Swinton and Jessica Chastain
3. Accessorizing with some hair bling can be a good move or a true fail, but last night’s ladies showed off some nice shine that complemented their dresses, their hairstyles and the rest of their jewlery. It’s a sweet touch that could also be perfect for special occasion ‘dos.
Sparkly headbands: Michelle Williams, Busy Philipps and Charlize Theron
