Get ready for the biggest night in Canadian professional beauty! Tickets are now on sale for the 38th annual Contessa Awards, the Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Awards, taking place November 8, 2026, at the John W. H. Bassett Theatre at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.
For more than three decades, the Contessas have brought together Canada’s top beauty professionals to celebrate creativity, artistry and excellence. The photo-based competition is open to licensed beauty professionals from coast to coast, with winners selected by an independent panel of Canadian and international industry experts.

The Big Night
The evening kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with the Contessa cocktail party, giving attendees the chance to connect with friends, colleagues, finalists, sponsors and industry leaders. Guests can enjoy a complimentary drink, hors d’oeuvres and food stations, while taking in brand activations, music from our DJ and photo opportunities.
At 6:00 p.m., the Contessa red carpet comes to life with interviews featuring finalists, VIPs and sponsors. The red carpet will be located within the cocktail reception space, giving guests the opportunity to see some of the night’s biggest moments before the awards show.
At 7:15 p.m., theatre doors open and guests can take their assigned seats in the John W. H. Bassett Theatre. The doors close at 7:40 p.m. in preparation for the show’s grand opening, with the awards ceremony beginning at 7:45 p.m.
The awards show will celebrate the winners of all 25 award categories, alongside three artistic stage shows and two special presentations showcasing the creativity and talent of the professional beauty industry.
Following the show at approximately 10:00 p.m., guests will receive their Contessa gift bags before heading to the official afterparty. The afterparty location will be announced at a later date, and all ticket holders receive complimentary entry.
What to Expect
A Contessa Gala ticket is $199 and includes access to the cocktail reception, complimentary wine or beer, hors d’oeuvres and food stations. Guests can also enjoy sponsor activations, music from our DJ, red-carpet interviews and photo opportunities before taking their seats for the awards show.
The evening will celebrate the winners of the 25 Contessa award categories and feature artistic stage presentations and special presentations from leading names in the professional beauty industry.
The celebration continues after the awards show with the official Contessa afterparty. The location will be announced at a later date, and all ticket holders will receive complimentary access.
The dress code for the evening is Evening Glam, so come ready to celebrate the creativity, artistry and talent of Canada’s professional beauty community.
