The tools you need to create the hottest hair trends of the season.
1. Ravishing Reds
Our moment with red hair isn’t over. Vibrant carmines take centre stage as the fiery hue of the year.
Try: -The seven new shades in the Revlon Professional Revlonissimo Privée collection promise vibrant results. Utilizing the Intense C5 technology and inspired by the glamour of club culture, the new shades are pure coppers, amber-reds, electric-reds and purple-reds.
-Matrix’s 3 new ColorInsider High Intensity Red shades (6RV+, 5RV+ and 4RV+), use an Oil Delivery System to propel colour into the core of the hair to create intense, long-lasting reds, while preserving hair integrity. The secret is PURE RED6 (PR6) dye, which has a larger molecule size and unique 6-sided structure that firmly attaches itself to the inside of the hair fibre to create pure, cool reds.
-Available in four different shades, L’Oreal Professionnel’s INOA Carmilane offers custom reds. As a result of the Carmilane pigment’s larger size, which comes from combining with other colour molecules, the end result promises a hue that’s no less than half a shade different from the selected pigment.
2. Metallics
Giving hair just a hint of shimmer and dimension is a must for clients looking for sublte shine.
Try: IGORA Royal leads the latest colour trend with a new shimmery palette. Schwarzkopf follows fashion’s cue for a new gilded season, as seen in iridescent fabrics and prints on the runways, by launching the IGORA Royal Metallics collection. Spanning the range of warm to cool, the new IGORA Royal Metallics feature eight new shades and four customizable colour techniques for a variety of styles from sophisticated metallic accents or a glam makeover.
3. Soft Naturals
Many clients will be seeking natural looking shades with a bit of impact for the coming season.
Try: Wella Professional’s Illumina Naturals collection offers 11 stunning hues, from golden honey tones to strawberry blondes, just in time for the colour line’s one-year anniversary and, according to stylist survey studies, the start of a golden opulence hair colour trend for 2014. The Naturals collection transforms 11 shades into 21 new mixing formulas to inspire beautiful colouring. Made with Illumina’s signature microlight technology, it leaves hair looking like virgin hair by encapsulating mineral residue found in the cuticle and letting light shine through hair pigment.
4. Blackberry Black
Dark hues get a pinch of plum to take black to another dimension.
Try: Inspired by colours on the runway, Scruples new Blackberry Series from True Integrity Opalescent Crème Colour features three hues containing a vibrant purple base for customizable shades of plum. Bountiful benefits include 100 per cent grey coverage and a conditioning formula made with a rich botanical blend and Scruples’ signature Protective Barrier Complex, which protects the colour molecule to deliver true penetration.
5. Brilliant Blondes
More and more clients will be searching for ways to go lighter and stay that way. Popular trends will include the pastel blonde and Blondre (brunettes who want a subtle blonde ombre effect).
Try: Schwarzkopf Professional gives colourists the creative tools they need to make any blonde effect with the BlondMe Iconic Collection, which includes seven different toners, a new tone softener, and the BlondMe colour care range. Global BlondMe ambassador and celebrity stylist Kim Vo suggests using the Pre-Lift Kera Protector before lightening or colouration to reduce damage during processing. Choose between the PPL9+, powerful nine-level lifting system, and the Transparent Gel Lifting System for controlled lifting.
